History

Purpose of Establishment

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Tourism Association was established on February 22, 1962, pursuant to Article 45 of the Tourism Promotion Act, with the aim of contributing to the growth and development of Jeju’s tourism industry and enhancing the business operations and welfare of its member companies.

  • Signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Sichuan Provincial Leisure Association
  • Hosted the 29th Jeju International Tourism Marathon Festival
  • Hosted the Jeju Tourist Hanmaum Festival
2024
  • Mr. Kang Dong-hoon inaugurated as the 37th President of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincia
  • Opened the Jeju Tourist Complaint Center
  • Signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Shandong Premium Tourism Promotion Association
  • Signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Long An Tourism Association (LATA)
  • Signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Indonesia Travel Agent Association (ASTINDO)

  • Held the 25th Non-face-to-face format Jeju International Tourism Mara

  • Engaged in international exchange with the Arita City Tourism Association of Japan
  • Engaged in international exchange with the Department of Tourism of Primorsky Krai, Russian Federation
  • Signed a business agreement between the Jeju Tourism Association and the Seoul Jeju Residents’ Association

  • Hosted the 1st Jeju Antre Festival

  • Launched the Jeju City Tour Double-Decker Bus Service

  • Opened the Honam Area Promotion Office (Gwangju) (2007)
  • Renamed as the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Tourism Association (2006)
  • Opened the Yeongnam Area Promotion Office (Busan) (2003)
  • Opened the Seoul Promotion Office (2001)

  • Reorganized into a public-private partnership system (1999)
  • Hosted the 1st Jeju International Citizen’s Marathon (1995)
  • Hosted the 1st Jeju Eulalia Festival (1993)
  • Hosted the 1st Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival (on Jeonnong-ro) (1992)
  • Established the Tourist Information Center at Jeju Port (1987)
  • Established the Tourist Information Center at Jeju International Airport (1985)
  • Hosted the 1st Jeju Canola Flower Festival (at Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak) (1983)
  • Designated the association as a training institution for tourism guides (1973)
  • Establishment of the Jeju Tourism Association under Article 45 of the Tourism Promotion Act (1962.2.22)
